About Us
Our Story
Hi!! I’m Rebekah King, the founder of the Boston Babes.
When I moved to Boston in 2022, I was coming out of a time in my life marked by deep loneliness and uncertainty. I didn’t know a single person and had never even visited the city before, but I was hopeful that Boston could offer me a much-needed restart + my dream job!
My experience roommate-searching on Facebook was… awful (if you know, you know). But what I noticed in that journey were dozens of people my age, just like me—new to Boston, craving genuine connection, and unsure where to turn. Thus, the Boston Babes was born.
What started as a roommate-finding group chat turned into a Facebook group, then eventually blossomed into a whole network of women and nonbinary folks finding friendship, fun, and purpose together across platforms and in person.
In the early days, I ran everything solo. But as the community grew, I knew I couldn’t do it alone. Now, Boston Babes is powered by an incredible team of more than 10 people who volunteer behind the scenes to make this community the best it can be. Boston Babes has even gained recognition from outlets like the Boston Globe and WBUR!
At the heart of it all is my passion for inclusion and empowerment. I want every person who finds the Boston Babes to feel welcome, seen, and supported—and to know that they have the tools and community they need to discover their purpose and power in this city.

Boston Babes is a social community for women and nonbinary people in Boston looking to make new friends, explore the city, and connect over fun events. Whether you're new to Boston or just want to expand your circle, we’re here to help!

Joining is easy (and free)! Follow us on Instagram, join our Facebook group, and/or chat with us on Discord to stay updated on upcoming events. Our events are launched the first week of each month. Keep an eye out!

Nothing!! We firmly believe that you should not have to break the bank to make genuine connections, so to be a Boston Babe members you just simply have to be involved on our online/in person community.
For specific events, some events are free, while others have a ticket fee to cover venue costs, food, or special activities. Any additional admin fees go directly back to the Babes to help keep us running.
You’re also welcome to donate to the Boston Babes to help us stay afloat. It’s completely optional, but so helpful, as we all balance running this group on top of our 9-5’s. 💕

We host a variety of events, including brunches, workout classes, happy hours, game nights, seasonal activities, and more! Our goal is to create fun and welcoming spaces for our Babes to connect. That’s why we have our events are created and run by our amazing Hosts.

Absolutely! Many of our members join solo and leave with new friends. Our events are designed to be welcoming, so don’t be shy!
Feeling nervous to come alone?
So were we, at one point! That’s why we’ve developed our Babes Buddy System to match you up with a buddy before your event so you can go together and make a new intimate connection.

Right now, we’re focused on the Boston area, but we’re always open to expanding to new cities! If you’d like to start a Babes branch in your own city, let us know!
